CED Florozon with the support of the Royal Embassy of Norway in Belgrade, has commenced with the implementation of a "RIGHT TO KNOW- RIGHT NOW!" project. The overall objective of the project is to support further development of the national pollutant release and transfer register in accordance with PRTR Protocol under the UNECE convention on access to information, public participation and access to justice in environmental matters (Aarhus convention). The project which will be implemented in cooperation with the ministry of environment and physical planning of the Republic of Macedonia is design to strengthen the capacities of key PRTR stakeholders (competent authority, industry and NGOs) to act as equal partners in the process of PRTR implementation.
CED FLOROZON TO PARTICIPATE AT THE AARHUS CONVENTION MOP 5, PRTR PROTOCOL MOPP 2, AND THEIR JOINT HIGH-LEVEL SEGMENT 30 JUNE – 4 JULY 2014
CED Florozon representative participate at the fifth session of the Meeting of the Parties (MOP 5) to the UN Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) Convention on Access to Information, Public Participation in Decision- making and Access to Justice in Environmental Matters (Aarhus Convention), the second Meeting of the Parties to the Protocol (MOPP 2) on Pollutant Release and Transfer Registers (PRTRs), and their joint high-level segment convened in Maastricht, the Netherlands, from 30 June – 4 July 2014. The meetings brought together approximately 400 government experts, civil society, Aarhus Centres, business and industry, intergovernmental and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and academia to address issues related to access to information, public participation and access to justice in environmental matters, as well as PRTRs.
CED Florozon participated on the first Volunteer Fair organized by the U.S. Embassy Macedonia. This event which was organized at the University Library in Skopje was attended by more than 150 potential volunteers, which featured booths for more than twenty organizations working on issues that include environment, domestic violence prevention, services for youth and the elderly, green energy, health awareness, animal welfare, cultural activities, student activism, and civic engagement. It was a great opportunity to present the main scope of work of the CED Florozon form one side, and to meet young people all wanting to contribute towards a better environment from other side.
