HOW TO MANAGE WATER

HOW TO MANAGE WATER

More frequent and more direct participation in the creation and realization of reforms in the so-called water polices, water resources management and participation in creation of the market value in exploitation of the drinking water. This, among else is the main resume of the National campaign for promotion of the so-called inclusive water management. Today the campaign’s representatives introduced people from Shtip with their rights from this sphere. Simply said, this is what it is about:

“Citizens by law have the right to take part with own actions if the quality of drinking water is not satisfying, if the water price is too high and similar matters. Thus, citizens have legal right to directly turn to the competent Energy Regulatory Commission of Republic of Macedonia”, says Natasha Serdarevikj from CED Florozon-Skopje.

So far, the campaign gives the expected positive effects. The citizens got to know their legal rights in the part of water and water resources management.

“The project results are already visible. One of these is the formation of so-called Macedonian hydro network. This is an association of non-governmental and civil society organizations whose competencies are tightly connected with the water problems”, explains Serdarevikj.

After the Bitola citizens, today, citizens from Shtip got informed about their legal rights when it comes to water and water resources management. The organizers – Center for Environmental Democracy and the Macedonian organization of consumers have informed us that this project will last for one year.
