Students from Dimitar Pop Georgiev – Berovski Primary School in the Municipality of Gjorche Petrov participated in another interactive workshop at the Biotechnology Laboratory of SUGS “Marija Kiri – Sklodovska” – Skopje, as part of the project “Civic Activism for Achieving a Circular Economy in Organic Waste Management.”
Scholars from 7th to 9th grade, together with their science teachers, had the opportunity through demonstrative experiments to learn how household organic waste can be transformed into useful products for the pharmaceutical, cosmetic, and food industries. The workshop enabled the youth to become familiar with the concepts of circular economy and green entrepreneurship, encouraging them to think about sustainable solutions and opportunities for their future professional development.
This educational event inspired students to think about how waste can become a resource and be used in creating a sustainable green future. Through hands-on activities, they gained new skills and knowledge for responsible waste management, contributing to the development of environmental awareness and active civic engagement.
The project “Civic Activism for Achieving a Circular Economy in Organic Waste Management” is financially supported by the Government of Switzerland through the Civica Mobilitas program and is implemented by the Resource Environmental Center (REC) – North Macedonia, in partnership with Eco Logic and FLOROZON Center for Environmental Democracy.
