From February 3–4, 2025, CED FLOROZON participated in the second partner meeting of the NBS4RESILIENCE project held in Prijedor, Bosnia and Herzegovina, under the Interreg IPA Adrion Programme. The event was hosted by the Development Agency of Prijedor (PREDA) and gathered all project partners to review the progress achieved so far, exchange experiences, and define coordinated actions for the upcoming implementation period.
The meeting provided an opportunity to advance collaboration among institutions, experts, and local authorities dedicated to integrating Nature-Based Solutions (NBS) as practical tools for climate adaptation and resilience building across the Adriatic-Ionian region.
One of the major outcomes of the meeting was the agreement on the creation of Participatory Climate Resilient Forums within each partner territory. These forums will bring together representatives from local governments, civil society, academia, and citizens to collaboratively identify climate challenges and co-design tailored NBS interventions. The CRFs will serve as open platforms for dialogue, joint planning, and monitoring of resilience-building activities at the local level.
To formalize cooperation and ensure smooth coordination in project implementation, all partners signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This document establishes a shared framework of responsibilities, communication mechanisms, and commitments to transparency, partnership, and mutual support. The signing of the MoU marks an important milestone, reinforcing the partners’ long-term dedication to sustainable climate action.
The two-day meeting also featured practical workshops where partners collaborated on developing methodologies for local implementation plans, monitoring tools, and communication strategies. Through interactive sessions, participants jointly defined the timeline and roles for upcoming activities, ensuring that each partner contributes effectively to achieving the project’s objectives.
Supported by the European Union through the Interreg IPA Adrion Programme, the NBS4RESILIENCE project represents a regional inititaive to strengthen the capacity of local communities to respond to climate change through innovative, nature-based, and participatory solutions.
