Today, representatives from FLOROZON – Center for Environmental Democracy, at the invitation of the Ministry of Environment and Physical Planning (MoEPP), took part in the national event “Together We Create a Sustainable Future!”, organized to mark June 5 – World Environment Day.
The event, officially opened by Mr. Izet Mexhiti, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Environment and Physical Planning, gathered representatives from public institutions, civil society organizations, the academic sector, and international partners to discuss current environmental priorities and pathways toward a greener and more sustainable future.
Through two dynamic panel discussions, the event addressed several key themes crucial for advancing environmental governance and sustainability in North Macedonia:
- Sustainable management of protected areas – focusing on biodiversity conservation, ecosystem protection, and effective policy implementation;
- Sustainable waste management – exploring national strategies for reducing waste generation and promoting circular economy principles;
- Application of modern green technologies – highlighting innovation as a driver of sustainable economic growth and environmental protection.
FLOROZON particularly welcomed the presentation of the new partnership initiative between the GLOBE Program, MoEPP, UNICEF, and the Network for Experiential Learning, which promotes practical environmental education as a key tool for developing environmentally responsible generations.
