On 3 and 4 December, the transnational event “Climate Bridges – Network in Action” is taking place in Sarajevo, bringing together civil society organizations and climate activists from across the region. The event focuses on exploring how local communities can act as key drivers of climate action.
The programme features inspiring regional initiatives and campaigns such as “Breathe Clean” and the Climate Champions Competition 2025, alongside concrete ideas for the development of a new joint regional climate campaign. Particular emphasis is placed on mechanisms and opportunities for mutual cooperation, exchange of experiences, and coordinated action.
The first day of the event was dedicated to strengthening the Climate Bridges network, with discussions on its governance structure, coordination mechanisms, and approaches to ensuring long-term sustainability. Participating organizations shared experiences, educational materials, and success stories from their local contexts, while also discussing opportunities for joint actions and small cross-border initiatives across the Western Balkans.
This event provides an important platform for building stronger connections among organizations, creating new partnerships, and jointly designing practical climate solutions tailored to the needs and challenges of the region.
