Today, the Center for Environmental Democracy FLOROZON and the Municipality of Karposh signed a Memorandum of Cooperation, establishing a framework for long-term partnership in the areas of environmental protection, urban greenery, and climate resilience.

The signing of this Memorandum marks an important step toward a more systematic and strategic approach to green space planning, the consistent implementation of legal obligations, and the development of concrete pilot interventions that will help make Karposh a more sustainable and healthier place to live.
The cooperation will focus on:

• strengthening the planning, protection, and enhancement of urban greenery and green infrastructure
• promoting and applying Nature-Based Solutions (NbS) in urban and peri-urban areas
• joint preparation and implementation of projects aimed at reducing air pollution and addressing the impacts of climate change
• continuous education and engagement of the local community, educational institutions, and civil society in climate and environmental policies

As part of the same activity, an educational training on Nature-Based Solutions (NbS) was also delivered, with participation from representatives of the municipal administration, local institutions, and educational establishments. The training was implemented within the project “Nature-Based Solutions for Advancing Climate Mitigation of City of Skopje”, supported by the Embassy of Canada through the Canadian Fund for Local Initiatives (CFLI).
