Yesterday, we successfully completed the pilot action for Nature-Based Solutions (NbS) in the Municipality of Kisela Voda. In the presence of the Mayor of Kisela Voda, Ms Beti Stamenkovska, together with local activists and municipal representatives, we carried out the planting of trees and shrubs in the 11th Oktomvri neighbourhood, at the Chess Park.

This “green” intervention, in addition to enhancing the public space aesthetically, has a clear environmental and public health objective:
The activity has been implemented within the Nature Based Solutions for Advancing Climate Mitigation in City of Skopje Project, financially supported by the Canadian Fund for Local Initiatives and the Embassy of Canada in Belgrade, Serbia.
Nature is not only a victim of climate change—it is a key part of the solution.
We will continue delivering concrete actions that bring visible change at the local level!

This “green” intervention, in addition to enhancing the public space aesthetically, has a clear environmental and public health objective:
- to improve thermal comfort, reduce the urban heat island effect, and create a more pleasant and healthier environment for the everyday use and recreation of both young and elderly residents.
- We concluded the event with a formal meeting with Mayor Beti Stamenkovska, during which we reaffirmed our commitment to strengthening mutual cooperation through the implementation of similar initiatives across all areas of environmental protection.
