FLOROZON – Center for Environmental Democracy took part in the national event “Good Environmental Governance under the Green Agenda for the Western Balkans”, held at Hotel Solun in Skopje. The event was organized within the eponymous project “ implemented by the Center for Legal Research and Analysis (CLRA), the Macedonian Young Lawyers Association (MYLA), and Front 21/42, and financially supported by the European Union.
During the event, FLOROZON had the opportunity to present its project “Civic Monitoring for Accountable Water Management”, which focuses on strengthening transparency and accountability in local water governance. The project aims to empower civil society organizations to monitor the implementation of water management policies and contribute to more responsible and participatory decision-making at the municipal level.
The discussions throughout the event addressed current environmental challenges in North Macedonia, including nature protection, air pollution, waste management, and the role of citizens in preserving the environment. These exchanges underscored the importance of intersectoral cooperation, effective implementation of environmental laws, and stronger civic participation in environmental governance.
FLOROZON expressed its appreciation for the opportunity to exchange ideas and experiences with representatives from institutions, municipalities, and the civil sector, reaffirming the organization’s ongoing commitment to promoting good governance, environmental justice, and public participation as key pillars of sustainable development.
